- IoT server option and minimal server interface for Windows Server.
- Windows containers, except for Visual Studio build tools.
- Runs in a virtual machine environment without a full Windows operating system.
- Application virtualization solutions such as Microsoft App-V or MSIX for Windows or third-party application virtualization technologies.
- Multiple concurrent users using the software on the same machine, including shared virtual desktop infrastructure machines or centralized Windows Virtual Desktop hosts.

- ARM64 or x64 processor. Quad core or better is recommended. ARM 32 processors are not supported.
- At least 4 GB of RAM. Many factors affect the resources used. For typical business solutions, we recommend 16 GB of RAM.
- windows 365: At least 2 vCPUs and 8 GB RAM. 4 vCPUs and 16 GB RAM are recommended.
- Hard Disk Space: At least 850 MB to 210 GB of free space, depending on features installed. A typical installation requires 20-50 GB of free space. We recommend installing Windows and Visual Studio on a solid-state drive (SSD) for improved performance.
- Video card that supports a minimum screen resolution of WXGA (1366 x 768). Visual Studio works best at 1920 x 1080 or higher resolutions.
- Minimum resolution assumes scaling, DPI settings, and text scale are set to 100%. If not set to 100%, the minimum resolution should be scaled accordingly. For example, if you set the Windows screen scale and layout settings to 200% on a Surface Book with a native 3000x2000 screen, Visual Studio will see a reasonable 1500x1000 screen resolution, which meets the minimum requirement of 1366x768.

Visual Studio is available in English, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Spanish, and Turkish. You can choose your Visual Studio language during installation. The Visual Studio installer is also available in fourteen languages, which will match the Windows language if available.
