Touring XL is the best! ! !

When we had to trade our city car for something better, we did a lot of research. It takes good rear legroom, heated rear seats and adaptive headlights. With the Touring trim, you also get a lift-free drop door, Nappa leather, and air-conditioned front seats. With the turbo it's as fast as any other car and you never have to worry about power. I'm a weaver and have done a few craft shows and everything fits the car. Our grown kids fit in the backseat just as well as their grandparents. With three, it's less comfortable, but totally doable. It's quiet here, the sound system is great, and night driving is a breeze. Nice to "share the love".……

We bought the '18 Limited and fell in love. We bought a '19 3.6R Limited and love it even more. We traded the '18 for the '21 Touring XT 3 months ago and hope they take it back. The car has always been plagued by entertainment issues. I hate that every control is stuck behind this stupid screen. When the screen goes black, I have zero climate control, bluetooth, radio, nothing. I've replaced the radio once, as that should have fixed the problem, but the problem persists. If I could get rid of it now, I would. I've been told over and over again that Subaru is working on a fix that could come out in the fall. There's a lot going on behind the screen. Then there's the junk driver tracking system, which sometimes recognizes you, sometimes doesn't. Or sometimes it recognizes you as you enter, then forgets you somewhere along the way before you reach your destination. I hate the jerk when the engine restarts at stoplights. Not smooth at all. In the end, I can't imagine what the pickup would be like on the standard engine. Turbo provides some boost, but still not quite as powerful as my 3.6R. I would take that engine any day. I'd be happy if Subaru would buy it back from me at this point so they can pull it over and figure out what's wrong with it. On the positive side, the seats are much more comfortable compared to my 19, which I wish I had on my 19. this is the best. I finally got over such a huge disappointment. Why? Not sure if I'll be buying more Subaru's.……

This is my second outback trip. I think new technology and new body platforms would be great, but I'm not so sure. My previous Outbacks had absolutely no rattles or squeaks, but this one did - especially in a few places around the dash and passenger door. Of course the businessman couldn't hear anything. Occasionally hesitates while driving. It's almost like the torque converter is temporarily disconnected. The dealer told me the transmission was still "learning" my driving habits. The 2019 Outback has nothing like that. The new screen size is nice, but as I've read and agreed, there are too many menus to navigate to find what you're looking for. Heated seat controls are just one example. I always get a warning to be careful when I try to find something on the screen. Fuel consumption is high so far. It's very comfortable to drive on smooth and flat roads, and on the highway I like the lane centering feature that my other car doesn't have.……
